Prof. Martin Bohus will come to Sweden / Stockholm for a 5 days DBT course for psychologist and other DBT clinicians.

Prof. Martin Bohus has work a lifelong carrier with DBT and started a inpatient DBT program in Germany in 1994. He has worked with DBT ever since and he has collaborated with Marsha Linehan, Allan Fruzzetti and other Professor in the DBT field. He has a lifelong clinical and research experience. He is the President for for The European DBT Society.

Martin Bohus received his specialty in Psychiatry and in Psychosomatic Medicine. Since 2003 he has held the Chair of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at Heidelberg University and is Scientific Director at the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim. He holds a visiting professorship at the University of Antwerp and Harvard Medical School. He has received several awards for psychotherapy research. He is past president of the European Society for the Studies of Personality Disorders (ESSPD) and is president of the German Association for DBT. He was president and initiator of the 1st International Congress on Borderline Personality Disorder in Berlin in 2010. He has currently published more than 300 articles and book chapters, mainly on mechanisms of psychotherapy, borderline personality disorders, and PTSD.

He will present TF-DBT (Traumafocused DBT).  In TF-DBT are more specific mindfulness training, instructions and worksheets. There is a strong inspiration from schematherapy, compassionfocuseret terapi, ACT and emotionel processering therapi. It is a “must” education for DBT therapists.  Prof. Bohus will present DBT in a different way with new models, and show how to work with patients with exposure to central emotional trauma networks as “abandoment”, “social rejection” and PTSD trauma networks through in-senso exposure.

The mindfulness module is new and different, but makes more sense for patients. The handouts are more developed especially wisemind.

Look forward to get inspired by Prof. Bohus! He has new models and new texts for all 4 modules in DBT.  The introduction of values, wise mind and steps towards values are new ways to work open up for become more clear and give more sense for DBT clients. There is a RCT undergoing between standard DBT and TF-DBT and the results will come in 2026.

Particpants will receive 5 papers to do the TF- DBT (traumefocused DBT). In this DBT program there are 2 tracks. One track is for Borderline/PTSD and the other track is for Borderline only. In each track there are one manual for the therapist and for the client. The skills manual for mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal skills and distress tolerance is also renewed and participants will receive a copy (in a dropbox file for print).

Bohus´model is outpatient DBT model for 45 sessions.
